This design was created in the mid 1970’s and was originally used as a border design on tablecloths and wall hangings. In 1993 it was developed as an all over textile print. The owl is a night time bird. We call him jurrukukuni. Whoever dance owl they get message from this bird if something is wrong or something good has happened.
