The general term for venomous or cheeky snakes are aruwunga. Yilinga the carpet snake is common on the island and the old people like to eat it. Snakes are often caught while hunting possum and sugar bag in old logs. There is a big carpet snake that lived in the roof at Tiwi Design. Sometimes we can here him chasing possums.
